Caring for a vulnerable child in kinder, primary or secondary school

Schools will return to remote and flexible learning – across all year levels and across the State. The only exception will be for our specialist schools.

Onsite supervision will again be made available for students who need it, including children whose parents are permitted workers and vulnerable kids who can’t learn from home.

If you need this support, contact your school to discuss the arrangements they have in place.

If you're in Stage 4 restrictions and care for a vulnerable child, you'll maintain your access to kinder and childcare.
Even if you are working onsite or from home.
However, if you or someone else in your household can look after your kids at home, you must keep doing that.
The new Access to Childcare Permit will sit alongside the Permitted Worker Scheme announced yesterday.
If you're eligible, you can get a work permit here.
