This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgment in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs.
This qualification provides participants with the skills to obtain positions in the following environments, aged care, disability, planned activity groups, day services and local councils.
This qualification can lead to areas such as Certificate IV in Ageing Support and Certificate IV Allied Health Assist.
This qualification is at the Australian Qualification Framework Level 3 and a level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) is required to ensure the student has the potential required to complete the assessment work expected throughout the course. The LLN assessment will take place as part of the Pre Training Review process.

The course is divided into a series of 4 day training blocks, one block per month for 15 months. These blocks may contain either single units or units with common themes. You will be given session plans prior to each block so you know which units are covered.
