VACCHO are currently recruiting for the following positions: 

 

 

Project Coordinator, Mental Health Royal Commission

The purpose of the role is to plan, promote and design a series of Aboriginal community consultations throughout Victoria as part of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.

Where possible consultations should leverage of existing relationships, Members services and existing Aboriginal place-based governance structures.

The findings from Community consultations are to reflect the voice of Aboriginal peoples and communities, and be presented to the Commission in June 2020, in time to be considered for the final report to Parliament in October 2020.

 To be successful in this role you will:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role, or one with transferable skills in human rights, mental health, project management, community consultation, and the provision of high level strategic and policy advice;
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, implementing and managing projects;
  • Excellent communication skills (including interpersonal, verbal and written) and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people at all levels.
  • An ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, characterised by co-operation, trust and mutual respect;
  • Ability to identify and analyse problems, establish appropriate solutions and recommendations using analytical and conceptual skills.

Senior Policy Officer

The position of Senior Policy Officer is to research, consult, produce and communicate effective, evidence-based advocacy positions to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in Victoria. The position will form part of the Policy and Research Team; working in a cooperative environment and promoting collaboration across teams.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a social and/or public policy role;
  • Proven project management experience using highly participative and collaborative consultation skills;
  • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to research, compile and prepare reports, submissions and documents, and
  • Ability to identify and analyse problems, establish appropriate solutions and recommendations using analytical and conceptual skills

Education Resources Officer

 The role of the Education Resources Officer is to create, maintain, and monitor education resources and to maintain the education resources available to students via the online student portal. The role involves liaison with Course Coordinators and Educators, as well as version control and electronic record systems.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience in a training administration or desktop publishing role;
  • Proven project management experience using highly participative and collaborative consultation skills;.
  • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to research, compile and prepare reports, submissions and documents, and.
  • A flexible approach, with strong organisational and planning skills, including the ability to effectively manage time and workload, prioritise tasks, and meet changing circumstances, competing demands, interruptions and deadlines.
