VACCHO now auspices the Victorian Committee for Aboriginal Aged Care and Disability (VCAACD), which is the Victorian reference group for staff in organisations providing Home and Community Care (HACC) services to Aboriginal people.
The aim of the VCAACD is to support HACC staff in ACCHOS and mainstream service organisations to enable Aboriginal people to access high quality, culturally appropriate community and in-home support services.

The two-day Summit will pay tribute to our Elders by acknowledging and honouring the resilience, wisdom, and guidance offered by our Elders, whose deep connection to the country, ancestors and community has shaped Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the past and continues to shape their future.
Day 1 – Respect | Day 2 – Listen
Panellists and guest speakers will discuss topics such as The Voice, Treaty, the aged care reforms, and their overall perspectives on health and wellbeing in Aboriginal Communities.
About the Victorian Aboriginal Elders Summit
In honour of this year’s NAIDOC Theme For Our Elders, we invite you to join with us in hearing directly from Aboriginal Elders. We will listen as they share with us the stories of their lives, the changes they have witnessed, and the aspirations they have for future generations of Aboriginal leaders. Featuring senior Aboriginal Elders and leaders from across Victoria, we will reflect on the services needed to respect the dignity and quality of life that is the entitlement of all Elders. The two-day event includes dinner on the first evening, and opportunities to connect with leading Health and Aged Care Service Providers.
