Workforce Issues Unit

PRIMARY HEALTH CARE ACCESS PROGRAM (PHCAP)

PHCAP provides a mechanism to enhance and extend the existing local health systems, both mainstream and Indigenous specific. It establishes a national framework for the expansion of comprehensive primary health care services around the country.


Role Overview

This position will assist to implement the priorities identified through the Victorian advisory council on Koori Health (VACKH) workforce sub-committee who oversee the Victorian implementation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Health Workforce National Strategic Framework (ATSI HWNSF). The position will progress the priorities as outlined in the Victorian implementation plan, primarily supporting Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in the recruitment and retention of GPs as part of the Primary Health Care Access Program (PHCAP).

The position forms part of the VACCHO Workforce Issues; working in a team environment and will assist in a range of workforce related projects where required.
