Below is a brief history of the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation by then student Michael Hemingway. It is an account of one community’s struggle for recognition, respect and equity. It is a tale of survival, a chronicle of a people who refused to yield to two centuries of abuse and mistreatment, and who today stand as one to demand adequate health and wellbeing.
