The Victorian Aboriginal Children and Young People’s Alliance (Alliance) and the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) have called for urgent system change after a Victorian Ombudsman’s investigation revealed that kinship care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their carers has seen an unacceptable number of experiences of inequality and hardship.
