The VACCHO Statewide Eye Health Project Officer works collaboratively with VACCHO Member organisations and key local, state and national stakeholders to; promote the importance of eye health, maintain the awareness of eye health services, increase the number of eye examinations, improve the patient pathway and the Eye Health outcomes for Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
VACCHO is a key partner and representative of the Koolin Balit Aboriginal Eye Health Advisory Committee.
Key mainstream stakeholders and partner organisations include; Department of Health Victoria, Minum Barreng (Indigenous Eye Health Unit), Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne, Australian College of Optometry, Vision 2020, The Fred Hollows Foundation, Brien Holden Vision Institute, Royal Australian, National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
