National Reconciliation Week was initiated in 1996 to provide a special focus for nationwide activities. This week is a time to reflect on achievements and things still be done to achieve reconciliation. This week is timed to coincide with two significant dates in Australia’s history. These day are strong symbols of hope and direction for reconciliation: 27 May and 3 June.
