ACCO COVID-19 Vaccine Van Heading to Seymour

Posted by VACCHO Communications Team on 29 October 2021

The Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) and Lower Hume Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Program are pleased to announce that a dedicated Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) COVID-19 Vaccine Van will have its third residency in Seymour next week.

The ACCO Vaccine Van will be situated at Goranwarrabul House on the corner of Callen and Bretonneux Streets Seymour between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday 3 November and Thursday 4 November.

Health professionals from Star Health and VACCHO will be administering Pfizer vaccines for the two days. Walk-ins with no booking are welcome to the site.

There will be an assortment of giveaways with VACCHO’s new ‘Protect Mob’ T-shirts on hand for those who attend to get their Covid-19 Vaccine.

With restrictions easing across Victoria – Lower Hume Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing Project Officer Rebecca Welsh welcomes the Vaccine Van to the area.

“I am looking forward to seeing community attend to get their vaccine – especially those who might still be undecided or unsure about the vaccine.”

“We welcome community to call in and have a yarn to the friendly and qualified staff who can answer any questions or fears they might have.”

“There are growing concerns about unvaccinated members of the community being left behind, we need to ensure this does not happen as it will create more barriers for our mob.”

“At the same time we understand the importance of providing people with support to ensure they are in a position to make an informed decision.”

“The rollout of dedicated vaccine van will play an important part in giving our young people access to the vaccine.”

Information regarding the van's visit to Seymour will be available on the VACCHO and Lower Hume Primary Care Partnership Facebook page.

Thanks to the Victorian Department of Health for their support with the vaccination vans.
