Building Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Education and Cultural Mentoring Capacity

This research will engage in wide ranging consultations in order to achieve an understanding of the dynamics involved with cultural education and cultural mentoring from the perspectives of all stakeholders, namely, GPs, registrars, RTPs, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs), and cultural mentors and cultural educators. Through respectful consultation with these stakeholders, core principles for a new National Framework for Cultural competence in Prevocational and Vocational General Practice Training including the definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be identified to support both its implementation and its ongoing evaluation.
