Info

This research proposed will be a Qualitative narrative inquiry (interpretive narrative biography) that will endeavour to implement a Ganma (Yolungu) approach that combines Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Ways of Knowing, Being and Doing and a Eurocentric theory, Critical Race Theory. It will have an emancipatory / advocacy and participatory approach that seeks community input and knowledge exchange. Through Yarning and Deep Listening known as Dadirri (an Arnhem Land concept),  semi-structured interviews incorporating critical conversations will reveal the valuable ‘stories’ of the participant’s journey before, during and after pregnancy.
