This partnership between Mother and Child Health Research Centre and VACCHO aims to explore possible strategies to promote breastfeeding; and to gain an understanding of breastfeeding initiation and maintenance for Aboriginal women across Victoria. The project will: explore strategies that may increase breastfeeding rates among Aboriginal women in Victoria; collect and report on breastfeeding outcome data for Aboriginal women in Victoria using routinely collected data sources and; work with Koori Maternity Services (KMS) to explore the feasibility of implementing models of maternity care that provide continuity of midwife care to Aboriginal women in Victoria.
