Info

This is a research project that aims to explore the issues of gender identity, work and ethnicity from the point of view of men from indigenous backgrounds. The study will be carrying out interviews (between 10 and 12) with men between the ages of 21 and 55 from indigenous backgrounds living in Melbourne and working in professional or ‘white collar’ jobs. The interviews will explore things like aspirations, identity, how people relate to indigenous background who live in the city, what role indigenous background plays (or has played) in working lives, views on some current issues facing indigenous people in being able to attain long term and meaningful employment, how people got to where they are today.
