Get your breasts checked with BreastScreen Victoria and Kirrae Health Service.

Get your breasts checked and protect yourself against breast cancer. Put your health centre stage by getting a free breast screen every two years from age 50. Regular breast screens are the best way to find breast cancer early and when treatment is most likely to be successful.

The BreastScreen mobile screening van will be visiting Kirrae Health Service from Monday 11 September to Tuesday 12 September. Your free breast screen will be done in a culturally safe environment with a female radiographer and will only take 10 minutes.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women will receive a FREE beautiful shawl (below) to use during the screening that they can keep afterwards.

The artwork on this beautiful shawl is ‘Inspiration’ and is designed by talented Gunditjmara andDjab Whurrung artist, Jess Chatfield.

“This piece was created in 2022 after I had attended a Straight Talk summit in Canberra. The stars represent our ancestors who walked before us. The women are the 60 inspirational woman I met in 2022. Then you have my connection to the water. My connection to my family. My connection to mob, and down the bottom is my connection to lands we live on.”
